Summer 2026

This coming summer I have the opportunity to go to York, England, with some high schoolers in the student ministry from my church, The Church of Eleven22.

York is very different from a typically thought of mission trip destination. Mainly, the people we will meet are similar to me from a social and economical background. When I went to Costa Rica last summer, we mainly served people living in poverty. So, York is going to challenge me in a different way... a way that will definitely impact me more deeply when I get back.

However, the population of York is only 3-6% Christian. This is very different than the people I've been connected with growing up in the South here in America. In my community, most people claim Christianity in at least one way. But, in York, when people think about "church" they think about history, not a family learning and growing with God. They see it as a relic of the past that they might learn about in a textbook. I am grateful that I get to see and experience church as a loving community that cares about one another's walk with the Lord. This trip will open my eyes to a whole population of people who don't have that community to rely on. That part will make it very different from other trips I've gone on.

Prayer is the most important way to support me, truly. I strongly believe in the power of prayer and would greatly appreciate if you could be praying for a safe trip that pushes my team out of our comfort zones and closer to God.

Duration
